Animal Kingdom Celebrates Elephants and Rhinos on September 23

This coming Tuesday, Disney's Animal Kingdom will have another of it's animal-specific days as they celebrate Elephants and Rhinos on September 23. Like all of these events, most of the activities will take place in Conservation Station.

According to the Disney Parks Blog,  "Education cast members will staff hands-on activities, the work of the Animal Nutrition Center will be highlighted and Animal Keepers from the Elephant, Savannahs, and Ituri Forest teams will be present to share information and answer questions related to the animal-care profession. Guests will also have the opportunity to speak with representatives from various conservation organizations including the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to learn more about opportunities to get involved."

I don't think I need to lecture anyone on the dangers and suffering these animals face every single day at the hands of poachers, but it always merits a mention. These gorgeous and popular creatures are killed in often the most brutal and horrifying ways.

We need to help, and the best way to do that is to help the people fighting on the ground to save them. There are many great organizations including our Conservation Partner, Save the Rhino.
