Disney's Animal Kingdom News Round-Up for September 3, 2014: Tamarins, Carpenters and Sleepy Animals

Walls Come Down at Cotton Top Tamarin Exhibit: Looks like the construction walls at the Cotton Top Tamarin exhibit on Discovery Island are now down, however it appears the tamarins are apparently not yet onstage.

Check out the website damouse.com for a great look at the new exhibit. It looks like tamarins are really moving up in the world!

What is a Stroller Bridge Exactly?  According to paperwork filed with Orange County, Disney is set to begin work on a few construction projects within the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail.  Among these projects is some “carpentry” work being done on the swing bridge in the gorilla exhibit, some modifications to the entrance, and work on something called the “Kilimanjaro Stroller Parking Bridge”.  When we find out more we will certainly let you know.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Goes Back to “Off Season” Hours: It appears Disney is anticipating much lower crowds over the next few weeks.  How do I know this? Simple, take a look at the park hours listed below. Magically the animals need to go to sleep earlier this week than they did earlier this summer. The shortened hours will remain until later in the month, or until crowds pick up. (Okay, perhaps that was a bit snarky.)

Park Hours for this week are...

Wednesday:  September 3 9am - 5pm (Extra Magic Hour 8 - 9am)
Thursday: September 4  9am - 5pm
Friday: September 5  9am - 5pm
Saturday: September 6 9am - 5pm
Sunday: September 7 9am - 5pm (Extra Magic Hour 8 - 9am)
Monday: September 8 9am - 5pm
Tuesday: September 9 9am - 5pm
