Disney's Animal Kingdom News Round-Up for November 5, 2014:

Disney Grants Funds to Help Wildlife in Uganda: According to a story from the Stanley News and Press out of Albemarle, NC, the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund has awarded a grant of $25,000 to the North Carolina Zoo for their UNITE for the Environment Program in Uganda program. The zoo, which is in Ashbeboro, NC, says the program’s mission is to “conserve wild areas in and around Kibale National Park by inspiring the next generation of Ugandan conservationists and fostering an appreciation of nature and wildlife in rural communities.” Click here to learn more about this terrific initiative. It certainly is always nice to hear that our money is being spent for great causes such as this.

New Aerial Photos of Avatar Construction:  Tracking the progress of the Avatar project is likely to be something we will spend quite a bit of time on in the coming years. The website wdwmagic.com has a new aerial photo of the area, and a side-by-side comparison with one taken a back in January.

There is not much new here, as far as trying to prognosticate what this will eventually look like. But we do see progress. Rather than just basically clearing land, it appears we are now starting to see foundations and footprints for future buildings.
